Wordle Helper

Enter your green, yellow and gray letters to see every word that still fits.

Green: right letter, right spot
Yellow: in the word, wrong spot

Put each yellow letter under the position where it was yellow. More than one letter per box is fine.

Enter your green, yellow and gray letters to see possible answers.

How to use the Wordle helper

  1. Green: type each green letter in its exact position.
  2. Yellow: type each yellow letter under the position where it showed yellow. That tells the helper the letter is somewhere else.
  3. Gray: type all gray letters in the last box.
  4. Pick a word from the top of the list for your next guess.

Example

Say you guessed CRANE and got CR AN E. Put E in the fifth green box, R in the second yellow box, and C, A, N in gray.See the results for this example.

Wordle strategy tips

  • Start with common letters. Words like SLATE, CRANE and ARISE test the most frequent letters.
  • Don't reuse gray letters early. A second guess with five new letters often tells you more than a guess that fits every clue.
  • Watch for double letters. Words like SPOON or EERIE catch many players out.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Wordle helper work?

Enter the colors from your guesses: green letters in their spot, yellow letters under the spot where they were yellow, and gray letters in the last box. The helper shows every 5-letter word that still fits.

What does "best next guess" mean?

Words are ranked by how common their letters are among the remaining answers. Guessing a word with common letters rules out the most possibilities, so you solve in fewer tries.

What if a letter is both gray and green or yellow?

This happens when you guess a letter twice but the answer has it only once. Enter it in both places. The helper then looks only for words with exactly that many copies of the letter.

Does it show the answer to today's Wordle?

No. It suggests words that match your clues, so you still solve the puzzle yourself. The list includes some uncommon words that Wordle accepts as guesses but rarely uses as answers.
