Frequently asked questions

What is an anagram?

An anagram is a word made by rearranging every letter of another word exactly once. LISTEN and SILENT are anagrams because they use the same six letters.

How is an anagram solver different from a word unscrambler?

The anagram solver only shows words that use all of your letters. The word unscrambler also shows shorter words made from some of your letters.

Can I solve anagrams with a missing letter?

Yes. Type a question mark (?) for each unknown letter and the solver fills it in with every letter that makes a real word.

Does it find multi-word anagrams?

Not yet. The solver finds single-word anagrams from a list of more than 168,000 English words.
