Look for common endings. -ED, -ER, -ING and -S can turn a short word into a long, high-scoring one.
Use the "ends with" filter. If there is a free spot on the board after a letter, filter by that letter to see what fits.
Remember the two-letter words. Short words like JO, XI and XU score well when you place them on bonus squares.
Switch the points system. Words With Friends values some letters differently. For example, B and C are worth 4 instead of 3.
Frequently asked questions
How does the word unscrambler work?
Type the letters you have and the tool checks them against more than 168,000 English words from the ENABLE word list. It shows every word you can spell using some or all of your letters, grouped by length.
Can I use a blank tile or wildcard?
Yes. Type a question mark (?) for each blank tile, up to the 15-letter limit. Letters filled by a blank are underlined in the results and score zero points, just like in Scrabble.
Which dictionary does WordSolverBox use?
We use ENABLE, a public-domain list widely accepted for word games. Official Scrabble dictionaries differ slightly, so a few words may be valid in one game and not another.
How are points calculated?
Points are the sum of the tile values for Scrabble or Words With Friends. Board bonuses like double word squares are not included, so use the score to compare words rather than as a final total.
Is the word unscrambler free?
Yes. It is completely free, needs no account, and runs in your browser so your letters are never sent to a server.
